Part Of A Long Tradition Of Special Olympics Fundraising Events

The Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) is an international series of torch relays, run by law enforcement officers leading up to each state or nation's summer games. Law enforcement personnel raise money and awareness about the programs in conjunction with their respective Torch Runs for their local Special Olympics Programs. The Torch Runs usually take place in the spring of each year where all levels of law enforcement are represented. You can see runners from local, state and federal law enforcement agencies running the torch through the streets of local municipalities all across the state. The Polar Plunge is an off season fund raiser for Special Olympics by the New York Law Enforcement Torch run Officers. Though law enforcement personnel coordinate and run the event, it is open to the public and will always be a wholesome family oriented event to support a most worthy cause. Be sure to watch for the annual Torch Run this spring and keep your eyes open for other exciting Special Olympic fund raising events.
